This month in the Treasure Hunt we'll look at a few of the many new
web presentation tools that have appeared recently. These tools are
really versatile. You can make any type of presentation, often using
a combination of images, video, text, voiceovers or other audio, and
yes, PowerPoint slides. These presentations can then be viewed at
the site or embedded into a blog, a Moodle page, or really any website.

☆支部研究プロジェクト紹介
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝

九州・沖縄支部メルマガ委員の竹野です。当支部が担当する企画コーナー
ですが、「支部研究プロジェクト」を取り上げていきたいと考えております。
まず、「九州・沖縄支部研究プロジェクト」の概要を述べておきたいと思います。
「九州・沖縄支部研究プロジェクト」は外国語教育メディア学会会則第5条にもと
づいて設置され、同会則第2条の目的「外国語教育を中心とする言語教育の
理論及び方法と、それに利用する教育メディアの研究をおこない、その分野の
発展に寄与するとともに会員相互の情報交換を行なうこと」を達成するために
設けられています。

支部の活動状況を紹介していただいております。同じ学会でも、他支部の

The first time I heard the term "bot", it was used to describe the
non-playable characters in video games. Recently, however, there is
a new type of bot that is becoming more and more common -- the
chatterbot. A chatterbot is an artificial intelligence-driven character
you can "talk" to or chat with using your computer. There are now a
surprising number of these you can introduce to your learners, many
of which are free. They are safe and harmless and fun to push to the
linguistic limits. Most of the chatterbots require Flash plug-ins. Many
chatterbots only allow text-based chat but the ones below are all
speaking chatterbots with voices that are fairly natural.
