Traveling from the International Congress Center to Tenjin:
By Bus
- Get on a bus at one of the nearby bus stops; open this map to see their precise locations. The most convenient stop will be across the street from the International Congress Center, at the Kokusai Kaigijo Sun Palace-mae (国際会議場サンパレス前) stop. Buses 55, 151 and 152 all stop here before going to the next stop which is Kokusai Center Sun Palace-mae (国際センターサンパレス前)
- Although buses come by regularly at these two stops, you may also walk a little bit farther to Sekijo-machi (石城町) bus stop, where you can catch either Bus 21 or 25.
- The one-way fare for adults as far as all Tenjin bus stops is ¥180 and takes about 10-12 minutes.
- Here are the weekday departure schedules for Buses 55, 151, and 152, and here is the schedule for Buses 21 and 25.
- Use this map to figure out exactly which bus stop in Tenjin you'd like to get off at. The bus routes, or names of all stops each bus makes on its way to Tenjin and beyond are available here: Bus 21, 25, 55, 151, 152 (look for the areas shaded in in green).
- Depending on how far you wish to go, you may get off the bus at either Tenjin Kita(9) (天神北(9)), or Tenjin Daimaru-mae(4) (天神大丸前(4)).
- The buses all continue past Tenjin, so just to be sure, ask the bus driver to inform you when you’ve arrived at your stop.
By Taxi
- The recommended mode of transportation is by bus; however, if you choose to use a taxi, the fare should run you at least ¥1000, depending on traffic conditions and time of the day. A taxi ride to Tenjin will probably take you between 10-12 minutes. Taxi fares increase by 20% between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
