By Subway

• At Hakata Station, find your way to the Hakata Subway Station. Any of the escalators found along the central concourse of the two main exits (Hakata Exit / Chikushi Exit) will lead you down to the Subway Station. Ask the Hakata Station Tourist Information Center where it is if you’re not sure.
• Buy a subway ticket (￥250) to Fukuoka-Kuko (Airport) Station 福岡空港駅 from any of the automated ticket vending machines lining the entrance to the station. English instructions are available, or you could ask for help from any of the Station Attendants.
• Make sure that you are lining up on the correct track. Check the electronic information boards hanging overhead each platform. You should be on the Kuko-sen 空港線 track waiting for the Fukuoka-Kuko train headed towards the Airport (and not towards Tenjin).
• Here’s the weekly subway train timetable.
• The ride is about 5-minutes with just one stop (Higashi-Hie東比恵 ) between the Hakata and Airport stations.
• Upon exiting Fukuoka-Kuko Station ticket gate, you’ll find yourself at the B1F level of Domestic Passenger Terminal 2. Proceed to the 1F via escalator, stairs or elevator. Here’s an overview map of the airport.
• To get to the International Terminal, use this map to find the shuttle bus stops. Or, you can stop at a “Tourist Information” (1F) counter and ask where the International Terminal shuttle-bus stops are. Buses run between the domestic and international terminals every 10 minutes and are free.

By Taxi

• The recommended mode of transportation is by subway; however, if you choose to use a taxi, the fare may run you at least ￥1500, depending on traffic conditions. A taxi ride to the International Terminal would take around 13-20 minutes. Rates increase 20% between the hours of 23:00 and 5:00.
