Traveling from Hakata to the International Congress Center:

By Bus

  • At Hakata Station-Hakata Exit 博多口side, go to Bus Stop E (のりばE) at the front of the Fukuoka Center Building. Ask the Hakata Station Tourist Information Center where it is if you’re not sure.
  • Get on a bus. You can catch either Bus No. 88 (Hakata Int’l Terminal 博多港国際ターミナル) or Bus No. 99 (Hakata Port 博多港). Both buses take an almost identical route to the Congress Center. Here are Bus Stop E’s weekday departure schedules for Bus 88 and Bus 99.
  • The one-way fare for adults for either bus is ¥180 and takes about 15 minutes.
  • Bus 88 will take you right to the venue, to bus stop: Kokusai Kaigijo Sun Palace-mae (国際会議場サンパレス前).
  • If you take Bus 99, you’ll want to get off at either: 1) Sekijo-machi (石城町)” which is 7 stops from Bus Stop E; or 2) “Kokusai Center Sun Palace-mae国際会議場サンパレス前” which is 8 stops, but a bit closer to the Congress Center. Here’s a map of the bus stop locations
  • Just to be sure, ask the bus driver to inform you when you’ve arrived at the closest stop to the International Congress Center (“Kokusai-kaigijo” in Japanese).
  • Here’s a map of the general vicinity of the Fukuoka International Congress Center, and here’s one of the building’s interior layout.

By Taxi

  • The recommended mode of transportation is by bus; however, if you choose to use a taxi, the fare may run you at least ¥1100, depending on traffic conditions and time of the day.
