Traveling from Fukuoka University to the International Congress Center:

By Subway & Bus

  • Take the Subway from Fukudai-mae station. Purchase a ticket for 290 yen (to Tenjin-Minami 天神南) from a ticket vending machine.
  • Take a train bound for Tenjin-Minami 天神南. Tenjin-Minami is the 10th stop from Fukudai-mae and the last stop. It’s a 16-minute ride.
  • From Tenjin-Minami station, after exiting the ticket gate, keep walking straight until you see the Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall to your right. Keep walking straight to enter the Mitsukoshi Department Store. You will find yourself at the B2 floor of Mitsukoshi. Look for an elevator in front of you to your right. Take the elevator to the ground level. There is also a staircase next to the elevator.
  • On the ground level, you will see a big street (Watanabe-dori Avenue) in front of you, which runs parallel to the Nishitetsu Train railroad (elevated). On the other side of the Avenue, you will see a terracotta-colored building (Daimaru Department Store).
  • Start walking north along Watanabe-dori Avenue - Mitsukoshi should be on your left. Keep walking 200 meters or so, and you will find bus stop 2A (Tenjin Solaria Stage-mae 天神ソラリアステージ前) on your right. It is located in front of Solaria Stage Building, next to Mitsukoshi.
  • Take bus #80. You can find bus schedules here (just set the time you want and click "schedules").
  • Get off at Kokusai Kaigijo Sun Palace-mae 国際会議場サンパレス前. It’s the 6th stop from Tenjin Sorlaria Stage-mae, and it will take you about 10-15 minutes if the traffic is not bad. The fare is 180 yen.

By Taxi

  • If you take a taxi from Fukuoka University to the International Congress Center, the daytime fare is around 3000 yen.
  • If you take a taxi from Tenjin to the International Congress Center, the daytime fare is around 1200 yen.
  • Rates increases 20% between the hours of 23:00 and 5:00.
